ABOUT

Matt is a photographer and film maker based in London. After growing up in the north of England, he began to develop his eye photographing portraits of those closest to him, as they lived their formative teenage years.

At the age of 19 Matt moved to London to pursue a career in photography. After first working at BigSky Studios, he spent three years full time as photographic and archive assistant to David Bailey CBE. It was whilst with Bailey where Matt was able to grow his understanding of the classic analogue fundamentals of photography, as well learning the wonder that comes when talented people, vision, beautiful lighting, and transient moments are brought together. During his time mentored by Bailey, Matt began making films both for Bailey's studio and for freelance clients.
Matt now works full time for Sølve Sundsbø on stills, video and emerging technologies projects for advertising and editorial clients worldwide. This has included lighting on the 2026 Pirelli calendar and camera operating on fashion films featuring Tilda Swinton and Pedro Pascal. Matt also worked closely on the production of Sølve's newest book HANATABA.

Whilst freelance assisting he's worked for photographers including Nick Knight & Mariano Vivanco, as well as contributing to projects for Cartier, Chanel, Audemars Piguet, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Adidas, Levis, Zara, Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Grazia, Tatler, Sony Records, Polydor Records and many others.

Within his own work he's been commissioned to create films for ON|OFF ĽOrèal Professionnel and Vogue Arabia.

Splitting his time between shooting his own projects and working alongside Sølve, Matt is London based and travels internationally.
